Aurora Court Docket Searches
The city's own Aurora Courts and Detention portal is where a municipal case begins. Its Docket Search lists scheduled city proceedings. Pay Court Fines covers cases eligible for payment. Warrant Search checks warrants out of Aurora Municipal Court. Webex access and instructions sit under Virtual Court. Keep your citation or municipal case number handy before you pick a tool. Read the court named on the paper first. Also read the code or statute cited, the charge, and the appearance date. Aurora itself cautions that not every ticket written inside city limits gets filed in Aurora Municipal Court. And remember that a payment result or warrant result is not the whole Aurora court docket.
- Read the citation's named court and determine whether it cites Aurora code or state law.
- Open the Aurora Docket Search for a city-code matter and enter the available case details.
- Compare the setting, status, and case number with the paper notice.
- Call case information at 303-739-6444 or scheduling at 303-739-6456 when the setting is unclear.
- For a state case, use Colorado Judicial rather than the Aurora municipal tools.
Four Aurora Court Record Tools
Aurora spreads its common tasks across four buttons, and the design works well once you know each button's job. Docket Search tells you when a municipal matter is set. Payment tells you whether an eligible fine can be paid, Warrant Search tells you whether this court holds an outstanding warrant, and Virtual Court supplies links plus the rules for appearing.
| Aurora tool | Question answered | Key limit |
|---|---|---|
| Docket Search | What municipal proceeding is scheduled? | It is not a full statewide case history. |
| Pay Court Fines | Is this Aurora case eligible for payment? | Eligibility does not prove the full docket outcome. |
| Warrant Search | Does Aurora Municipal Court list a municipal warrant? | It is not a Colorado or federal warrant search. |
| Virtual Court | What link and instructions apply? | A link does not by itself grant appearance eligibility. |

What the city's system shows are Aurora court records, kept by Aurora itself. They do not come from the elected Arapahoe County Clerk and Recorder.
Inside the Aurora Municipal Court
You will find Aurora Municipal Court and Detention Center at 14999 E. Alameda Parkway, Aurora, CO 80012. Its docket covers Aurora Municipal Code violations: municipal traffic summonses, parks and open-space offenses, local criminal matters, neighborhood code compliance, overweight commercial-truck cases, animal violations, and fire-related violations. Call court administration at 303-739-6440. The city prosecutor's number is 303-739-7810. That jurisdiction stops at the city-code line. A state felony, a County Court traffic matter, probate, a domestic case, or an ordinary private civil suit never turns into an Aurora municipal case just because it happened inside city limits. Match Aurora court records to the court actually printed on your paperwork. Municipal records and transcripts stay with Aurora too. The elected county recorder is not the city court clerk, and Colorado Judicial does not replace the municipal record channel. Ask Aurora for the docket or disposition, then use the separate transcript line if you need the words spoken at a hearing.

Finding Aurora Court Dates
Confirm any Aurora court date against the latest city notice and the municipal Docket Search. Dates do shift. When a hearing entry seems to have moved, call the scheduling desk instead of trusting an old listing. Remember that a setting is an event, not a result. An arraignment on the docket does not establish guilt. A jury-trial listing does not prove the trial ever happened.
| Date | The scheduled municipal event date; compare it with the newest notice. |
|---|---|
| Time | The listed start time for the Aurora setting. |
| Division | The municipal division assigned to the proceeding. |
| Appearance type | In-person or an approved virtual option, when eligible. |
| Setting type | Arraignment, trial, compliance, payment, or another municipal event. |
For a hearing coming up soon, the Aurora scheduling line is the best fallback. What you see in a public view of the Aurora court docket is informational only, not a certified record.
Aurora Virtual Court Records
Aurora publishes Webex jury-trial viewing for Divisions 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6. Virtual arraignment carries its own eligibility rules. A viewer link does not mean you may appear remotely. Confirm eligibility and instructions before the hearing. Then use the Aurora court docket to confirm the division and time. The Aurora Virtual Court source documents those links and warnings.
Each virtual room connects to an Aurora municipal division. None of them belongs to an Arapahoe County or District Court courtroom.
Appearance warning: Watching an Aurora proceeding is not the same as making a required appearance. Confirm remote eligibility with the court before the date.
Aurora Traffic Ticket Lookups
Start with the ticket itself. An Aurora police citation might belong to the municipal court or a county court. Some other court may be printed right on it. Before anything else, read the issuing authority, the cited code, the court name and number, and any mandatory-appearance instruction. If Aurora Municipal Court is named, the city's own docket and payment channels apply. If the ticket names Arapahoe County Court, take it to Colorado Judicial instead. Where the officer pulled you over decides nothing about venue.
Paying is one choice and contesting is another. A mandatory appearance has to follow the court's instructions. When Aurora does allow payment, confirm the case number and balance first. Missed a date? Call the clerk. Later Aurora docket events, collections, or a municipal warrant may need direct attention.
Eligible Aurora fines can be paid online, in person, or by mail. Online credit-card payments carry a published 2.7% surcharge, and in-person credit cards carry 2%. The counter takes major listed cards, cash, checks, and money orders. Debit, cash, or check avoids the card surcharge. Mail payments must be payable to City of Aurora Municipal Court. They go to the municipal courthouse. Aurora cannot accept money that belongs to another jurisdiction. The Aurora fines and fees source lays out the city's payment channels.
A successful payment screen is not a substitute for the full case record. Read it beside the Aurora court docket, which holds the entries a transaction receipt never will.
Aurora Warrant Search Milestone
August 2023 brought Aurora a set of new online tools: municipal warrant lookup, partial online payments after disposition, and automated reminders. The reminders can cover court dates, missed dates, payments, collections, and warrants. Access to city records improved. The scope, though, stays municipal. The official Aurora warrant-search announcement records that rollout.
This launch marks a real Aurora court-record milestone. It does not turn the tool into a search of state, federal, or other-city warrants.
Aurora Partial Payment Records
Timing matters with partial payments. Aurora's 2023 service expansion added partial online payments after disposition, meaning the case must first reach a stage where the court permits payment. Under the city's published guidance, fines are due on sentencing day, and a payment plan or partial-payment option changes nothing about what the Aurora court docket says on the underlying plea, finding, or sentence.
Keep the receipt, but treat it as one piece of the Aurora court record, not the whole thing. The clerk's docket can show the charge, settings, disposition, financial entries, later compliance, and any public warrant or collections event. A receipt proves a transaction. It does not necessarily prove the final balance, a closed case, or the exact terms of the sentence.
Automated reminders are aids, not official orders. A missing email never cancels an Aurora court date or payment duty. When the balance, deadline, or status is unclear, check the current docket and call the case-information line. For mail and in-person payments, write the Aurora municipal case number on them so staff credit the correct record.
How Aurora Cases Reach the County
Aurora Municipal Court is a city court. Aurora-code matters begin there and usually stay there, unless an order or advisement supplies an appeal route and a new number. Plenty of cases bypass the municipal portal entirely. State misdemeanors, county traffic matters, felonies, probate, domestic relations, and private civil cases belong instead in Arapahoe County Court or Arapahoe District Court when Arapahoe is the right county.
Docket flow: Aurora Municipal Court › Arapahoe County Court › Arapahoe County District Court.
Aurora sits across Arapahoe, Adams, and Douglas counties. An incident address alone can mislead a docket search. Hold on to the lower-court number. Use the appeal advisement or the named receiving court to find any later record. The county-wide Arapahoe County court docket adds the state-court routing layer. It sits on top of city records.
A municipal appeal can open a second record under a new state number. Keep the Aurora number and the order naming the receiving court. Search both numbers whenever both appear. The Aurora docket stays the city-level history. The receiving clerk keeps the later county or district entries.
Missing Aurora Court Records
No result in the Aurora portal for a police citation? Inspect the citation before blaming slow data entry. The court name and code reference on the paper may send the case elsewhere. If the ticket does name Aurora Municipal Court, call case information. For a missed or moved setting, use the scheduling line. For a closed case, ask the municipal clerk. Avoid trusting an active payment screen.
An Aurora warrant search can come back blank. A different court may have issued the warrant. A payment tool can be blank too. The case is not eligible, not yet disposed, or belongs somewhere else. Every blank result calls for its own follow-up.
Need an Aurora municipal transcript? Call 303-739-6573 with the exact date, division, and case number. A transcript of what was said differs from the clerk's docket and filed orders. Before placing the Aurora record request, ask which format, cost, and delivery path apply.
Who Can See Aurora Court Records
Request Aurora municipal case records from Aurora, not from the Arapahoe County Clerk and Recorder. Access can still be limited. Sealing law, juvenile restrictions, personal identifiers, and court orders all narrow what the public sees. A visible docket entry does not guarantee that every filing or transcript is open online.
Colorado access rules:
Colorado Revised Statutes Title 24 contains the Colorado Open Records Act and criminal-record sealing provisions.
Chief Justice Directive 05-01 governs Colorado Judicial Branch court-record access; Aurora remains the municipal custodian for its own cases.
C.R.S. ยง 19-1-304 restricts access to juvenile court records.
Need a disposition, order, register, or transcript? Ask Aurora directly for that record. But if the case is a state matter, the Arapahoe Docket Search channels are the right route, and the Combined Courts clerk handles those requests.
